Governance



Association

Polylat was formed on 27 July 2020 and registered in the Commercial Register of the Canton of Geneva. It is constituted by its statutes as a nonprofit association subject to the provisions of Articles 60 and following of the Swiss Civil Code.

The association is an international group consisting of a small administrative team headquartered in Geneva and, in addition, its statutory bodies:
  • the General Assembly of members of the Association 
  • the Executive Committee of elected members of the Association


Statutes

The original articles of association were updated in March 2022 and subsequently in August 2024, and registered duly at the Commercial Register of the Canton of Geneva. The stated mission of the association, as of August 2024, remains unchanged since 2020:
«Améliorer la qualité et la pertinence des informations stratégiques au sein du système multilatéral, et aider la mise en oeuvre efficace des politiques en mettant à disposition des décisionnaires des avis d'experts, des recherches et des analyses; 
"Improve the quality and relevance of strategic information within the multilateral system, and to support effective policy implementation by providing decision-makers with expert advice, research and analysis;

Créer avec ses membres un réseau international de chercheurs et d'experts familiers avec les questions complexes de la politique, de la technologie, et de la gouvernance qui sont d'importance capital pour les dirigeants et leurs représentants; 
Create with its members an international network of researchers and experts familiar with the complex issues of politics, technology and governance that are of critical importance to leaders and their representatives;

Travailler à l'universalisation d'une compréhension opérationnelle des structures, normes, et fonctions du système multilatéral, afin de les rendre accessibles aux délégués auprès des organisations internationales et à la société civile, et aux membres de la presse, du monde académique, des syndicats, des coopératives, et des mouvements sociaux.»
Work towards the universalization of a working understanding of the structures, norms and functions of the multilateral system, in order to make them accessible to delegates to international organizations and to civil society, and to members of the press, academia, trade unions, cooperatives and social movements."

Our committee members are unpaid volunteers, except for Guy Weress, who as our Executive Director is a nonvoting observer.
